In 2016, when I was still an investor, a friend recommended me to see a company that was producing methanol fuel cells and had very new products that changed China's energy structure. Because I was optimistic about the future development potential, I did not hesitate to invest 20 million yuan in this company with my partners. Finally, the company's product technology had many shortcomings, and after two years of market failure, I quit this company. Summarizing the painful failure lessons, I think the main reason is the lack of experience in the operation of the previous products. In the actual promotion and use process, the frequent failure of the product equipment, low efficiency, high energy consumption, short life and other problems are difficult to solve.


In 2016, I set out to establish Mohydrogen Technology again. My identity changed from investor to entrepreneur. We began to study solutions and ran around the world to find truly mature methanol fuel cell technology. When we were researching fuel cell technology in Europe, we noticed that there was a European fuel cell enterprise called SerEnergy, which was the best in the industrialization of methanol high-temperature fuel cells. As their founding team left the original enterprise, I cooperated with several enterprises. In 2019, we jointly founded Blue World in Denmark and introduced methanol high-temperature hydrogen-rich fuel cell technology to China. Toshiba has been engaged in technical research on methanol fuel cells for decades, and its "Ene-Farm" products have been introduced to thousands of households in Japan. In October 2019, Mohydrogen officially entered into cooperation with Toshiba, introducing key technologies such as methanol low-temperature hydrogen-rich fuel cell power generation and online selective catalysis of carbon monoxide removal to China.


The two technical routes of Mohydrogen belong to the international leading technology. After more than two years of R&D and iteration, they have been successfully developed successively. The two series of products have passed the strict testing by the third party testing institutions and started to be applied and demonstrated in different fields. Solve all kinds of off-grid electricity demand.


In my entire entrepreneurial process, I often have friends ask me why I choose an industry that is still in its infancy and stick to it so far. China is the world's largest methanol producer, consumer and pricing country. If methanol replaces petroleum, it will change China's energy pattern. China's methanol preparation technology has been mature, but methanol reforming fuel cell technology still has bottlenecks to break through. Mohydrogen Technology should undertake this mission, and also have the ability to become a leader in the application of methanol fuel cell products, as a pioneer in China's energy revolution.
